Need ideas for how to use some of the ingredients in your October 23rd distribution? Try this recipe for White Bean Stew using the canned white beans, frozen chicken, milk, pasta, broth, flour, and butter.

As we transition back to client-choice distributions in Fort Davis, we will have more recipes and cooking demonstrations at the Food Pantry!

Wondering what to do with the radishes you received from July 26 distribution?
  1. Eat them like the French do! Spread cold butter on some bread, add thinly sliced raw radishes, salt & pepper. Enjoy.
  2. Add sliced or chopped raw radishes to your salad.
  3. Half them, toss them in olive oil, salt & pepper. Throw them on the grill and cook for about two minutes per side.
  4. Add sliced or chopped raw radishes to your tacos.
  5. Roast them! Cut radishes in half. Toss with olive oil, salt & pepper. Roast them in the oven (or toaster oven) at 425-degrees for about 18 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender crisp.
  6. Quick pickle! Mix 1/4 c vinegar, 3 T sugar, 1 T salt. Add sliced radishes. Toss and refrigerate for at least an hour. (Overnight is better.) Pickled radishes will keep in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
  7. Slice & eat them raw.
Let us know if you love radishes and would like to receive them again.
