Kids Pantry at the Jeff Davis County Library is once again open for regular business. The Kids Pantry is stocked with kid- and family-friendly food suitable for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. FDISD students with open campus lunch or homeschoolers can pick from a variety of healthy lunch options and eat in the library or take a lunch with them. A microwave is available.
According to the US Census, nearly 35% of Jeff Davis County children live in poverty. In an effort to combat child hunger the Food Pantry has partnered with the Jeff Davis County Library to offer free food to any child in our county. No applications, no income requirements, no personal information collected, no judgment, no stigma. If you are a hungry kid you can stop by the library and get food. Kids Pantry is sponsored by a generous grant from our partner, West Texas Food Bank, and individual donors. Through our Kids Pantry program and Pack-A-Lunch program, the Food Pantry feeds 70% of the children in Jeff Davis County.
