According to the US Census, 34% of Jeff Davis County children under age 18 live in poverty. In an effort to combat child hunger the Food Pantry has partnered with the Jeff Davis County Library in Fort Davis to offer a Kids Pantry.
The Kids Pantry works under a unique model of operation. There are no applications, no income requirements, and no personal information is collected. No judgment, no stigma. If you are a hungry kid you can stop by the library and get food. This is available to ALL Jeff Davis County children (enrolled in school and/or under age 18).
The Kids Pantry is stocked with family-friendly foods suitable for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
Kids Pantry is sponsored by a generous grant from our partner, West Texas Food Bank.
