How the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting Kids Pantry operations
Kids Pantry is still operating even though the Jeff Davis County Library has been closed during the pandemic! We are doing our best to make sure children in Jeff Davis County do not go hungry. Kids Pantry hands out bags of food every Monday at the elementary school during assignment pick up / drop off. Any parent of a child who resides in Jeff Davis County is welcome to pick up food for their children. Alternatively, you can call/text/or email the Kids Pantry and ask for a box of food. It will be left on the terrace at the JDC Library with your name on it during regular business hours (M-F 10-6). Call, text, or email the Kids Pantry to get a pre-packed bag of food for your child:

According to the US Census, nearly 35% of Jeff Davis County children under age 18 live in poverty. In an effort to combat child hunger the Food Pantry has partnered with the Jeff Davis County Library in Fort Davis to offer a Kids Pantry.
The Kids Pantry works under a unique model of operation. There are no applications, no income requirements, and no personal information is collected. No judgment, no stigma. If you are a hungry kid you can stop by the library and get food. This is available to ALL Jeff Davis County children (enrolled in school and/or under age 18).
The Kids Pantry is stocked with family-friendly foods suitable for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
Kids Pantry is sponsored by a generous grant from our partner, West Texas Food Bank.
