On this Saturday, at 8:00 a.m., riders and their bicycles will line up in front of the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County to ride to Valentine and back, up to an 88 mile ride! Not all riders will ride the entire length, some will do a partial course, but all riders will raise funds to support the Pantry’s efforts to provide supplemental food to 20% of our county’s residents. This year, we’ll have even more options to help you support our Food Pantry. We will have three different “tour” opportunities for you:
We will have volunteers manning the “Pit Stops”, placed about 15 miles apart, providing the cyclists and walkers needed respite, snacks, water and Gatorade. Lunch will be provided in Valentine, for those who make the long journey. At the end of the day, riders, walkers, volunteers, sponsors and guests are invited to the fabulous annual post-ride cook-out, where riders are rewarded with their “collectible ride dog tags” and will be treated to dishes from some of the best cooks in the area!
