Did you know that the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County currently feeds 377 individuals in 135  households? It is not easy to plan a budget that will provide healthy meals to meet the growing demand. Recently, however, good news came from the FMH Foundation which has awarded the Food Pantry, which exists only through private contributions, a grant of $25,000 to provide a wider variety of foods and services to meet the growing need in our county.

The FMH Foundation supports community-based actions and activities that foster social connections and build community cohesion for people of all ages and ethnic groups to help lead healthy lives. Their aid to non-profits is critical to so many organizations, especially to the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County. The Food Pantry's bi-monthly distribution features the “Pack A Lunch” program for 116  school-age children along with a Kids Pantry at the library.

The Florence Marie Hall Foundation of Midland was established nearly ten years ago to encourage community activities which
promote health along with the performing and visual arts. She felt strongly about giving back to the West Texas area and has made a huge difference in the success of many charitable non-profit organizations.
