Support of the Food Pantry helps to assure the chance for healthy and productive lives for those families in need. The Pantry also supplies lunch foods for the children of these families since the county schools do not have lunch programs. The Pantry relies on donations to pay for the food it purchases. All proceeds benefit the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

2016CF_AnneWPosterHungry pie lovers stood in a long line at the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County’s booth to purchase yummy pieces of pies. This year, the judges said all the pie entries were superb, making their decisions difficult and the resulting scores very close.  After all the tasting and judging was completed, the judges’ efforts yielded the following winning pies:

Pam Breithauft – First Place, Chocolate Pecan Pie

Elise Hisler  – Second Place, Organic Chocolate Mousse w/Coconut Pie

Bette Thomas – Third Place, Fort Davis Peach Pie

Lupe Rubio – Honorable Mention, Blueberry Pie

The funds raised via the annual Pie Contest directly support the Food Pantry of JDC, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, which is dedicated to providing nutritious food to food-insecure households in Jeff Davis County.
